Busy working on a comic con red shadow....

Post by thedupleman »

As some of you know I recently attended Birmingham comic con after a few years absence from the scene.

As I was always keen on cosplay I dug my old black major uniform out,but aside from some bits it had seen better days.
So being a former embroiderer by trade out came the machine and onwards with a new outfit,I never really liked the skull and bones anyway so did my own.
I was amazed at the interest at Birmingham and how the outfit stirred the memory of so many sellers and visitors, many of whom were amazed that they remembered the characters and the history. It also gave me a good opportunity to push the site here!

I decided the way to go was the black major since I had most of the stuff already so I simply took a black boiler suit and majorfied it....

The belt breaks it up perfectly....

Meanwhile the point of this is I have decided to go red shadow next and loads of people have said nothing is ever available,I wanted to do this on a budget so sourced a red boiler suit for £20 posted....(they can be got cheaper but this ones the right red).

So out came the machine, and quite a bit of sewing ensued. If I was doing this commercially you would be looking at £40.....

Results so far follow,I already have the best from major uniform, sourced a pair of braces for £4,I have the stick grenade and gun already and a pair of black gloves....and the result.....

Groovy, looking forward to seeing the end result.

Yep.....but it won't be wearable because of the chin issue(and the fact I have one +)

Been speaking to the guy who made the full size replica...

HOWEVER.....the future ironblood helmet will be wearable....(cocks eyebrows knowingly)

Attended Devcon at Exeter yesterday in black major gear. A few random figures for sale nothing worth reporting except a lot of enthusiasm for the costume
