When I did it I didn't have any problems with the pan itself, the hardest part for me was to keep the heat low enough to not warp the parts yet warm enough to insure good dye penetration. I have not personally done a lot of custom work, but Ritdye does work. When I did mine I went to JoeCustoms and searched for it to find instructions.
