Whilst looking for an opportunity to commemorate the sublime nature of Christmas 1984 was most pleasant to be reminded of the complicated and essentially fleeting appearance of the Battle Gear in all good toy stores in the run up to the main event. Took 20 years for ebay to bear appropriate fruit ...

Slightly off topic, but do any of you remember seeing the Battle Gear packs available at retail back in the day? I only saw them in the "YES IT'S TRUE!" Action Force/Star Wars promotional leaflet.

Presume this different shorter/smaller label, which is also a different green is an earlier type?

These are dated 1982 where as others are date 1984. Presume this smaller type sticker was used for the first wave only.
