Like the Black Major, they elected to pull all the familiar design elements and merely reproduce a classic figure. Normally, this isn't something I'm a big fan of. I'd rather new figures have new elements, rather than try way to hard to make something exactly like it was before. But in the case of the Red Shadows figures, when the originals were sub par from an articulation standpoint, and didn't fit in with the general cast of GI Joe characters, I approve totally.
