Good question, but can you please confirm that? Were any DDP creations made into actual toys? I've not read them yet.

Not sure which came first the characters in comics or the figures.

I messaged Brandon Jerwa on Facebook regarding it but I'm not sure he would know.

Wraith is the only one
first created in the comics and then Hasbro did it,
Created by Brandon Jerwa , the character was, dont know about the design, Talent Caldrell (sp?) who did the opening story for Wraith may have?
but i Know for a fact Jerwa created the wraith character and he didnt even get a figure sent to him, sadly

With the success of the collectors club figures are there any plans to continue their work and expand the range of SAF figures?

We already asked them that...
Hasbro's GI Joe Q&A Round Four 2009
1) We at BFTB were overjoyed to see the 2009 Kansas convention SAF Hawk & Blades tribute toy and comic set. Are there any plans to expand this range?
Unfortunately, there are no plans at this time.
Maybe amend the question to reference the original, as a follow-up?

In 2009 there were no plans to expand the range of SAF figures, this year has seen a growing interest (world wide / both sides of the atlantic??) in this range. Will this upsurge in interest in SAF figures change your plans.
