I had a Whale turn up today and noticed something that I never knew, It's a well known fact that the 2 missile boxes "droop" after a while, I just noticed that one has a sort of peg that sticks out of the "L" shaped arm that helps support the Missile box, I then checked my other whale and could see where it had snapped off. Looking at pics on Yojoe and by googleing it, I'm confused.. Did it always have this piece??? I had the Hasbro Whale as a kid and don;t remember them ever having that piece.

Thought they all had these? Nwver had one as a kid but the first one i bought years ago was a euro hasbro version and that had one though one was snapped, the other i have has them intact.

I remember this as clear as day from my childhood. I won a colouring competition at Fenwicks and as my prize I chose the Hovercraft. When I came to put it together I remember snapping these parts off and then regretting it straight away when the boxes didn't stay up. I also remember the instructions not being clear as to whether or not these came off.

So how do you stop the droop? I can't see anything like you fellers describe on mine.

Yep, all releases had them. A small piece of double sided tape should do the trick chopper

Damn! I'm never going to complete mine:-( Buddusky, I reckon my childhood one must have suffered the same fate, there's no reference to it on the blueprints, maybe I snapped them off thinking they were part of the sprue?

That's exactly what I did in one those moments, why did I do that! Like you I thought it was part of the sprue. I don't think I've seen a set intact, I'm guessing most people thought the same.

Mine were droopy, got mine off ebay so never thought to compare. Can someone post some comparison photos, please?

I hear there's this blue pill? Stops the droop for an hour or so?
Happens to all of us at some point... My missile launcher points in all kinds of random directions!
