IDW GI Joe #0 - Sneak Preview!

Post by The Baron »

How fortuitous is this? http://www/newsarama.com have released a sneak preview of the upcoming GI Joe #0 from IDW - 25 years to the very day that the first UK GI Joe comic was released!

It's labelled as CoverB so I'm guessing it's the variant cover anyway.

I like the cover - it's full of action.

Looks Good, but I'm really gonna miss the Hamaverse. But man that cover sucks, Hopefully Cover a will be better.

looks like the creators have been looking at the old Sunbow series, I half expected a tank to be parachuting down behind him! looks as good as anything recent but I'll be adding the 'Best of Collection' to my xmas list way before this.

CBR resources have an interview up

http://comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=18371

what I thought was interesting was this part

COBRA is still G.I. JOE's primary enemy in the IDW books, but they aren't the only threat. Schmidt and his creators have assembled a number of enemies to test their characters’ mettle. “Right off the bat there's a non-COBRA threat. It's from a very cool villain and if fans respond the way I think they will, he'll most likely return in some form or another” Schmidt teased. “And in Larry's book there's a completely new villain who I think is fascinating.”

.....................................The battle against COBRA and other threats will take the forces of G.I. JOE around the world and often embroil them in conflicts in real-life hot spots.

Now if this was the RED SHADOWS , Baron Iron Blood, or Iron Klaw and SKAR Id be in for sure but Im a bit worried that the RED SHADOWS and SKAR is going to get overlooked for a while

Another thought i have is, WHY WHY must a new enemy be created for the larry hama book when we already have tons of enimies out there that hasnt been used?

in any case Ill wait to reserve final judgment until I get a copy of the book from Ryal who is sending me one. Ill post my thoughts after I read it and wont say anymore before , as I promised Ryall I would

one last thought though the article says

................The more they order and the more they sell, the more G.I. JOE we get to do. So everybody wins.”

this is the one thing that may cause me to start reading this book from the start, if I support IDW and they sell lots of books and they do even more GI JOE books because of good sales then maybe just maybe well get the likes of the RED SHADOWS and SKAR to return. Finally
