Hi folks,
I've been wondering about this for a while now:

Was the :qforce: Swordfish a Hovercraft ?

This is a good question.

Always assumed it was a sort of avant-garde design liberty. But not a hovercraft per se.

Having never read the schematics tho' ... (sole exemplar still unboxed ... ) dunno what enlightenment they provide.

It has a flotation collar like a hovercraft I always assumed it was one.

Youre thinking of red laser.

Ahhh, thanks.

I think its a hovercraft, seems far more logical than a high speed boat that has to float on all that kit.

Which begs the question: why did they never storm a beach with it in BAF?

A swordfish piling into some dunes, crew picking off shads left, right and centre - that would have made great front cover art.

Ye olde Swordfish never really got any camera time in BAF. Even world enemy number one has a Sealion lurking off some godforsaken Shad infested nation. It was a bit late to make amends then.

There's the :qforce: story that so rudely interrupted Bloodhound, but from memory they were all larking about on all manner of artistic-license. And the opening mini-comic. And maybe one of the big stories from the holiday special that Coop drew, the one with the :muton: :muton: :muton: waltzing towards :steeler:
