Action Force Combat Kit by Salters - Replacement Pictures

Post by rcm1234567 »

My Topic about the Action Force Combat Kit by Salters lost all of the attachments.
Here are the Pictures & Info again I hope these are of use.

MORE INFORMATION NEEDED
If anyone has them I would be grateful if they could post pictures of the Communications And Code Kit & let me know if there were any other sets.

ACTION FORCE COMBAT KIT by Salters

DETAILS
Combat Kit #1.jpg
The Action Force Combat Kit was one of at least two “Salters Adventure Kits”.
These “Adventure Kits” were sets of child-sized accessories produced, under licence from Palitoy, by Thomas Salter Ltd.
Salters were a British toy company based in Glenrothes, Fife, Scotland, who produced both their own original toys, including "science" toys, & licensed Items such as jigsaws & transfers. Among their other licences were The A-Team, Masters Of The Universe, My Little Pony, Street Hawk & Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi.
A second “Salters Adventure Kit” was the Action Force Communications And Code Kit.
The packaging of the Adventure Kits does not show any of Palitoy’s Action Force toys & none of the items included in the Combat Kit had any Action Force markings at all, however some of the paper & card items in the Communications And Code Kit did have Action Force markings.
Other companies may have produced some of the items for Salters, eg the binoculars are marked “Ah Luen” & the P38 Pistol is marked “HG Toys”.

PACKAGING
The Combat Kit came in a large tray with a lift of lid.

CONTENTS
Combat Kit #1 Contents.jpg
The contents of the Action Force Combat Kit (shown above packaged in the inner cardboard tray) are a Break-Down Rifle, 2 Code Watches, a Play Walkie Talkie (Water Squirting?) in black, & Binoculars with Strap.
I do not know if there were any Instructions, as the set I have did not include them, but it was unsealed so they may have been lost.

BREAKDOWN RIFLE
Dis & Ass Breakdown Rifle #1.jpg
The Break-Down Rifle (shown unpackaged above, both disassembled & assembled) consists of a Pistol, Silencer, Telescopic Sight, Ammo Clip, “Extension Tube” & “Stock”.

Imagine that being sold now (which of course it wouldn't be!)
Looks like a "Man From U.N.C.L.E." gun!!! I don't recall seeing that anywhere back in the day.

And mine!!! I've wanted a silver Capri for years now.
Great telly from back when men were "MEN" and not the whinging, hand wringing cry-babies we see in most modern 'drama'.

My missus is obsessed with it! Fancies Martin Shaw even to this day (i'm sure she'll love me for telling the Forum that one). Thing is, she wasn't even born when it was first out! It is an ace show though. As you say, much better than the namby pamby modern tosh that pass as Police shows.

sadly today it would be neon green and purple and look more like a laser tag gun. i want a time machine! i remember using megatron, which of course is the same gun, i used him for cops and robbers and no i didn't have him transform...sounds like a bad tv show a gritty cop and his transforming gun!

Don't Marauder make a pistol that looks like this?
I'd love to have had Bodie & Doyle action figures back in the day, Starsky & Hutch got made by Mego, even Dempsey & Makepeace had figures made..so why NO Professionals from Palitoy? (or C.A.T.S eyes for that matter)
More news, as its made, from new Action Force!
