Series 1 – Ground Assault (4 Types)
Type 1 (Long Mic)
Type 2 (Long Mic)
Overall, the same as Types 1 and 2 share exactly the same mould, but differ greatly in the colour of the camouflage in the body part. In only the body (not the arms or legs), the colour scheme is reversed. Thus, in Type 1 it is dark brown in places that in Type 2 are light brown. This is particularly noticeable in the top left (facing) of the body, where in Type 1 it is light brown, and in Type 2 is dark brown, and also in the crotch area below the belt: Type 1 has a light upper part, Type 2 has a dark upper part. The colour of the dark browns seems to be different too, in Type 2 it is darker in hue than in Type 1, which is of a more orange/yellow colour.
Immediate ID Features: Light brown upper crotch (Type 1) vs dark brown upper crotch (Type 2), Long Microphone Head Sculpt.
Type 3 (Short Mic)
Type 4 (Short Mic)
Corresponding exactly with Types 1 and 2 in their alternate camouflage scheme on the body, but the head mould is the ‘Short Mic’ variant, rather than the ‘Long Mic’ above. Thus, Type 3 is the same colour scheme as Type 1, but the ‘Short Mic’ version of this figure, and Type 4 is the same as Type 2 (i.e. reversed camouflage), but the ‘Short Mic’ version.
Immediate ID Features: Light brown upper crotch (Type 3) vs dark brown upper crotch (Type 4), Short Microphone Head Sculpt.

Series 1 – Commando (2 Types)
Type 1
Type 2
Overall, the figures are exactly the same, but in Type 1, the belt and side packs are of the same dark green colour as the rest of the body, in Type 2, these are painted a light green. The only other difference noted is that the legs of the Type 2 are slightly closer together, though this may well be a product of manufacturing, rather than an aspect of the variant per se.
Immediate ID Features: Green Side Packs and Belt.

I have type two with no coloured pouches as well, Hopper. Same as the archive pictures.
