new Joe brand manager

Postby Goldbug » 03 Jan 2015 06:10

interview excerpt from the Club mag:

"For the most part, our biggest plans will be centered around future entertainment - the kind of stuff I can't talk about just yet. We are finalizing our 2015 plans and expect to deliver a lineup constructively similar to 2014 - with popular characters and vehicles, as well as a few NEW Surprises. If things go as planned, we will have an update to reveal at JoeCon in Springfield."

"We want to have stronger, more consistent dialogue with the collectors and fans. We want collectors to have NEW vehicles and playsets to energize the brand to a new generation of kids and a fantastic new feature film that is faithful to the soul of the brand (action, fun, weapons, vehicles). Two things I want to prioritize right away - I want to enable and simplify army building for Collectors, and I want the file cards to be brilliant for our characters."

We will probably see some more of the concept case come out.

Interesting how this news has spawned nearly 20 pages of discussion over on HissTank but nothing on here :)
Good to see they're hopefully going to announce something at JoeCon though.

I dunno about the rest of you lot, but given the GI Joe presence in Australia, I won't hold my breath. I live in hope, though.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

Do you have a link to the Hiss Tank threads. Are we moving towards more action force toys?

http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-joe-news-rumors/400642-g-i-joe-brand-alive-well-2015-a.html

Also Toy News International says Hasbro confirms no Joe stuff at NY Toy Fair in February.

So don't expect any new stuff until the end of 2015 otherwise they'd be soliciting buyers at NY Toy Fair.

I'm guessing that they'll be moving the brand into the same area as the Disney/Marvel Infinities games & figurines.
You'll be able to play as the characters & vehicles when you purchase the toys, in fact, I'm surprise they haven't tried it with Transformers already.
More news, as its made, from new Action Force!

unless they are still a Toys R Us exclusive because exclusives generally don't get shown at toy fair

Actually, the new Robots in Disguise toyline will seemingly have scannable insignias to unlock the characters in a mobile game. Not exactly the same, but close.
