We played stick wars as kids as well but one of the dads decided to upgrade our arsenal. made realistic wooden guns with a metal barrel and sprayed them black. we thot we were the biz marching single file to the park until we were stopped by armed ruc officers leaping from 3 land rovers (this was belfast in the early 80s) we were taken to a police station and had to wait for our parents coming to collect us. i got a good whoopin that night and dont remember playing war again
