Inspired by Volleydan's forthcoming trip to the 2009 Con in Kansas City I just had a look through the GI Joe Collector's Club website at the photos from previous conventions.
Some of the competition dioramas look amazing, as do some of the costumes!
Has anyone on here been before?

I've never been at any Joe convention, but I'd like to. Well, I must admit I'd like more to go to the BotCon... don't kill me! About the exclusives... that convention's set is the one that includes Munitia, right?

I'd love to make it to one, specially to do the parachute drop

I did a bit more looking - convention entry packages work out at about £170/person, and that's on top of membership which is about £50 each, + hotels, + air-fares... I can see a trip for two topping £1500 easy, and that's without food and spending money

I could never afford this we really must host a UK one the sets are they sold or do you get them on entry? I know Games Workshop would turn out an exclusive miniature on a yearly basis and give them on entry to Games Day

I went to one, when it was about 2 hours from my house when I lived in Florida
it was fun, but this years convention really blew it by rehashing an old idea for its convention set and not making it the RED SHADOWS, really blows
crimson PHAIL is what the buzz is on the net for this years convention set
