You can copyright or trademark just about anything. Especially when it comes to characters, and advertising.

Re: JOECON 2010-- RED SHADOWS ? ACTION FORCE ????

True Hasbro story: About 4 or 5 years ago at one of the Con's I asked the Hasbro panel about one of my personal favorite characters, Outback. Big Bawler had recently come out, and was clearly meant to be Outback, so I wanted to know what happened. Turned out that at the time they couldn't use the na...

Re: Action Man Patrol

Sweet. I definitely haven't seen all of that second set. The SAS, almost certainly. The Medic, the Guard, they kind look failure? I'm not sure. But those last 2, and those cards they are on, I've never seen those. I have been watching those badges. But after shipping they come up to about $30 for wh...

Re: JOECON 2010-- RED SHADOWS ? ACTION FORCE ????

As I understand it IP (intellectual property) rights are a bit different than Trademark or Copyrights. Seem's to have more to do with context rather than actual ownership. Like David Lettermen and his top 10 list. There was a huge debate when he switched networks whether or not the rights to the top...

Re: JOECON 2010-- RED SHADOWS ? ACTION FORCE ????

ok I know this sounds bizarre and please forgive me if I have dreamt this or something ! but .... Im sure I heard that all the molds had been lost at sea or something equally beserk ? That rumor did surface for Hasbro molds. They were moved around a lot during the 1990's: China, Hong Kong, India, B...

Interesting. I know I've seen the first 4, but I'm not sure about those other 3. Maybe the SAS? That one looks familiar to me.

Re: Action Man Patrol

That's the thing with this type of stuff, just because an items rare doesn't mean it's highly valuable, unless like you say two people are interested then the sky's the limit I guess. I love to see this type of role play stuff when it's on toy dealers tables or in shows, but have no interest in act...

Re: Action Man Patrol

Bargain! I wasn't aware that this stuff was out there, untill I read that ultimate guide book too. It must be hard for non-U.K collectors to find info' on vintage Action Man, how long have you been collecting this stuff & how easy is it to obtain over in the States? In a broad sense, I've been coll...

Re: Variant Stinger arms

I've seen this on a number of '83 figures, Airborne and Snow Job come to mind. Eddie, I think if you take the figures you have apart you'll come across the same differences. I think it might be a running change from figures that were initially released in '83 but then carried over into '84. Yep, th...

Action Man Patrol

Check out what I just won. Can't wait to get this in the mail. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390157388321&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT I've picked up a few minor Action Man Patrol items over the last few years, but I NEVER expected to find a MIP set in this condition. Especially not...
