Triad FighterAvailable during Release 2 wave 2 The Triad Fighter was available initially during wave 2. It was supplied boxed with a loose figure called Moondancer. It was a three part ship with a main section and a pair of sub-craft which attached to the end of the wings. The Wings could swivel through 360 degrees. The Vehicle was reissued in 1984, in Release 3, as part of the new Action Force with new decals, and a new pilot figure, but still with the same name and biography. DetailsThe Triad Fighter was developed to counter the Roboskull space fighter. The design called for a fast manoeuvrable ship that could engage multiple opponents. The solution found was innovative, as the Triad was the first multi vector combat ship devised. In joined mode any of the three pods can control the ship, so two of the three crew can be resting at any time, alternatively one pilot can fly the whole craft on his own if the ship is being ferried. In separated flight mode the more agile wing ships act as escorts for the more heavily armed main ship. "The Triad is a first, a fighter than can escort itself, and still engage three enemy craft at once!"
