Action Force

"Action Man in miniature..."

The Action Force range initially consisted of the AF3 Jeep, AF5 Multi-mission Vehicle and AF7 Diving Platform vehicles, along with the Arctic Assault, Australian Jungle Fighter, British Commando, British Royal Marine, Desert Rat, Frogman, German Stormtrooper, Ground Assault, Mission Pilot and SAS Trooper carded figures. The Commander figure was available as a mail in offer. In addition to these 10 carded figures, the US Paratrooper figure was released as a deluxe figure complete with parachute, and a Deep Sea Diver figure was packaged with the AF7.

The range was added to by the addition of of a number of repaints, the British 2 Para was simple repaint of the Royal Marine, the Naval Assault was a repaint of the Ground/Arctic Assault figure and the Helicopter Pilot was a green repaint of the red suited Mission Pilot. The Night Patrol was a combination of parts from the Mission Pilot and Ground/Arctic assault figures. The SAS frogman was a simple black repaint of the original orange colour frogman. The eighteenth figure released as part of this early was a simple white colour version of the Artic Assault figure released with the AF9 snowmobile. This early range was completed by a cardboard Headquarters play-set, much like the Palitoy Star Wars Death Star play-set.

Unlike the later ranges of Action Force, this first release did not have code names or individual identities, these figures were in essence miniature versions of the 12" Action Man range, some of the figures (SAS for example) being identical to their full size counterparts.
